Dr. Sujatha Gunnala founded the Southwest Fertility Center in 1980 following post-graduate training at two of America’s most distinguished centers for obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology. Dr. Gunnala attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania and later the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Among her many accomplishments she remains a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Gunnala is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Society of American Reproductive Technology (SART), Reproductive Surgeons, and Advanced Laparoscopy Surgeons. In association with other members of the center’s clinical staff, she has also contributed to advancing the science and practice of reproductive medicine. Dr. Gunnala remains active in research, symposiums, groundbreaking treatments, and clinical trials. Max Wijnberg, M.S. an Embryologist and Andrologist, joined Southwest Fertility Center in 1993. Max has been involved in human reproduction since 1986. He attended the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, received his masters degree in biochemistry in 1984, and developed his ICSI skills at the renowned Reproductive Biology Associates in Atlanta. Max participated in extensive research that improved the negative effect of crystallization on frozen embryos (Vitrification) in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Pamela Peat, is a Certified Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner, Certified Reproductive, Endocrinology & Infertility Nurse. She joined Southwest Fertility Center in 2007. Pam brings many years experience in Infertility and OB/GYN. She counsels couples considering the vast array of infertility treatment available to them. Her extensive knowledge in infertility and women’s health care issues assists her in the management and treatment of her patients. She is a Graduate of the Nurse Practitioner Program, University of Minnesota & Planned Parenthood of Minnesota. She received her Nursing degree with honors at North Hennepin Community College and her BA from Allegheny College. ![]() Heather Pisarski, RN, OGNP
Heather Pisarski, RN, OGNP, an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner, joined Southwest Fertility Center in 1996, with seven years experience in Maternal/Child Care. She also has four years experience in OB critical care nursing at Good Samaritan Medical Center. She coordinates the oocyte donor program and is involved in the sensitive evaluation and counseling of patients. Her extensive knowledge in women’s health care assists Heather in the management and treatment of her patients. Heather completed the OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Phoenix, received an associate degree in nursing from Gateway Community College and is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. ![]() Lana Schlotthauer, RNC
Lana Schlotthauer, RNC, has been with Southwest Fertility Center since 1987. She is certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Nursing. As the IVF nurse coordinator, Lana guides and counsels patients with her caring and sensitive approach. She helps to relieve stress by walking patients through their treatment plans and explaining each step in detail. Lana received ultrasound training from Gateway Community College in 1991 and holds an associate degree in nursing from Mesa Community College. She is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. |
